1. How To Care For Treasured Brown Girl Wigs?

Prewash - Prep

We recommend that you pre-prep your wig for the best washing experience. You should place the wig on a wig stand and detangle it with a wide tooth comb for Straight texture and a Denman brush for Wavy or Curly wigs. Comb or brush the wig starting from the bottom and working your way to the top.<.p>

Shampoo/Co-Wash

Squeeze two quarter-sized squirts of shampoo (or condition if you are co-washing) into your hands and rub it into the wig with your fingers starting from the bottom and working your way to the top. We recommend you co-wash the wig once every 6-weeks and wash it at a minimum every 7 to 10 wears. If you play sports or exercise regularly, we recommend you wash your wig more often.

Rinse

Put the wig under the faucet in cool running water. Dip wig in and out gently to allow the water to rinse off excessive oils. Then squeeze the excess water from the bottom of the wig to the top.

Condition

Squeeze two quarter-sized squirts into your hands and rub it into the wig with your fingers starting from the bottom and working your way to the top. Do not scrub the wig. Allow this to sit for five minutes. Then comb it through the wig with a wide tooth comb starting from the bottom and working your way up to the top.

Dry

Blot wig dry with a towel after washing or conditioning. Lay the wig flat on a towel in an area that has low light. Allow it to air dry then style.

Brush or Comb

We recommend that you brush your wig before you put it on and when you take it off with a wide tooth comb and/or a Denman brush for curly and wavy wigs. Comb or brush the wig starting from the bottom and working your way to the top. You can purchase either of these products at your local beauty supply store or Amazon.

You can buy a wig grip. A wig grip holds your wig in place so it does not move or fall off. You can purchase this from your local beauty supply store or Amazon.
The biggest question you have to ask is: how busy or active is the girl who will wear the wig and how much time do you have to dedicate to her hair? Straight hair will require the least maintenance. Wavy and curly wigs need a little extra attention.
Yes, you can dye the wig. However, we recommend you have a professional colorist dye it for you for the best results.
You can style the wig many different ways such as a bun, two ponytails, one ponytail,or a half up-half down. You can use flexi rods to wave the straight texture wig.
The length you choose should be somewhat manageable for the person wearing it. Longer lengths take more time to style. Longer styles can tangle more and require more combing throughout the day. Shorter styles can be easier to take care of. We recommend the following wig inches and lengths:10 - 12 inches: 9 -12-year-olds14 inches: 12-15-year-olds 16 inches: 16-18-year-olds
Alcohol, sulfate and paraben-free shampoo and conditioners will provide the best results when caring for your wig. We recommend products that are made for dry and damaged hair. Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo and 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner are great products that you can find at your local beauty supply or drug store.
We do not recommend sleeping in your wig because it can get tangled as you sleep.
No, we do not recommend you swim in your wig because the chlorine from swimming pools and dirt can cause damage to your wig. If you wear your wig in water, make sure you cover it up to avoid it getting wet.
Yes, you can. Although, we recommend that you avoid activities that cause a lot of sweating. Sweat is salty and acidic, and can dry out your wig causing it to matt or tangle.
With proper care and maintenance, your wig can last up to a year.
